We present a monthly short film screening series featuring a wide range of genres and styles of short filmmaking.  We also present several Signature Shortsfests throughout the year, focused on specialty programming and diverse filmmaking voices.  Our October 2011 screening kicked off the 14th Season of our shortsfest, and we are now programming our screenings and filmmakers events for 2012.

We are currently accepting submissions of short films and animation for monthly festival series.  We accept film year round on a rolling basis.  Our current submission period runs until December 21st, and films received during this period will be eligible for consideration starting with our Spring 2012 screenings.

We are also accepting entries for our upcoming Signature Fests:  our 5rd AFRICAN AMERICAN SHORTSFEST in February with the AMERICAN CINEMATHEQUE at the historic Egyptian Theatre, and our 5th WOMEN FILMMAKERS SHORTSFEST in March at DIM MAK STUDIOS in Hollywood.  Please refer to each categories submission form for specific deadlines.

Please click one of the links below to submit your film to either our monthly fest or one of our Signature Fests. If your film is eligible for both the monthly fest, and one or both of our Signature Fests, you may use the monthly screening series Submission Form.

DVD must be NTSC, and are accepted via mail.  Please postmark by Jan. 3rd, 2012.

Entry Fee

Each film only needs to pay one entry fee of $15.00 to cover all HOLLYWOOD SHORTS festival events.   If you submit to one of the Signature Fests, and your film is not chosen, it will automatically be considered for an upcoming monthly screening and will remain eligible for up to one year from date of receipt.
